I bought a bike… but not an adult bike
I have bought a bike, not an adult bike…. a “I’m 14 years old and angry at the world bike”
…….and it’s bright orange

It’s 30 degrees, the sun is shining but it’s supposed to be Christmas…. It’s fucking not. I don’t feel festive at all, I could be wearing a santa suit, a red nose and snorting tinsle up my nose and still it ain’t Christmas!!
I am off to the south west of Australia, the most southerly point in Oz…. the Oceans meet there at the lighthouse. Andrews folks have been great and I am spending Christmas with them for their family Christmas
It’s going to be weird not seeing my family this Christmas, this is the 1st Christmas away from them…. I have realised that moving 14,000kms from home changes a few things, including your friendship with your closest friend (I just hope it’s not damaged permanently)
So, here I am, it’s Christmas, my family and friends (well most of them) are fucking miles away and I am hoping that it gets snowy sooooon, but I won’t hold my breath and just suck it up…..I’m in Asutralia now… Christamas is a Summer thing…. BASTARDS!
I have arrived back from 16 days away on the East Coast on holiday, visiting Sydney and then down to Melbourne in a campervan
I had a good time, the wedding we went to was great fun, Sydney was as expected, Bondi rocked and Melbourne….. well if you like coffee and eating Melbourne is for you
The highlights were sitting in a bar with the harbour bridge in front and the Opera House to my right; The Blue Mountains and also the Great Ocean Road (which is a living memorial for the dead of the 1st World War)
I will update this site soon with photos etc, off again in 2 days for another holiday down to the South West
We are currently staying in Bondi, Wheeze needed some beach action, me having the attention span of a 4 year old can’t sit on the beach for that long…
So I went into Sydney to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. I have not lost my Englishness, so I found the nearest bar serving beer, kicked back and just watched…..
Wheeze and I stayed at the Q Station hotel in Manly on Thursday night (the night we arrived)
I had booked the hotel but neither Wheeze or I had looked into it too much, just that Wheeze said it looked like a good hotel
I must say it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, views across the Harbour, quiet, serene and a beautiful rooms.
The Q Station is the old quarantine station from the days of the plague in Sydney
Would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Sydney.
At the airport waiting for my flight to leave, it’s 23.35 and I am knackered.
Nothing to do at Perth domestic, except have a beer and read Bill Bryson’s ‘A Walk in the Woods’; not a bad way to kill time I suppose.
My flight is leaving in 70 mins; boards in 40 mins.
I am amused as I was following a grey haired woman through customs; when asked to stop and be checked over by the explosives swab on a stick she refused. I was waiting for the arm response uni, a foot on her throat and assassination style a la Jul 2007 in London, but sadly not! Give me the gun and I will still do it now!
Anyway, beer is a calling and this keyboard is shocking
All I can say is that I am about 6-7 hours from seeing Wheeze for the 1st time in 8 months and don’t have work for a month.
Watch this space and I should keep you posted on my trip. Can’t wait to see Sydney (the city, not am Aussie guy)
