9th March

I’m not going to mention her age at all, but………

Filed under: General — Ned @ 6:00 am

This weekend is my Mum’s birthday (and Mother’s day), and, like many of my peers, I still think of my Mum the age she was when we were wearing shorts and playing with Lego

(most of this post has been deleted to not give away my Mum’s age!)

All I can say is that I saw my parents wedding photo and my Mum was bare foot with long long hair and flowers in it, my Dad had a John Lennon beard, it’s a memory that I hope I never lose :-)

Anyway, all I can say is Happy XXth Birthday Mum, thanks for being there for me and…. see I didn’t give away your age at all!

So apology time:

Sorry for everything, thanks for realising it’s because that’s who I am…. Thanks Mum.

28th February

So once again my parents put on their capes and saved the day!!

Filed under: General — Ned @ 8:06 am

I owe so much to my parents and today was another reason why I love them to bits

We didn’t get paid Friday as we should, my boss was quite blasé about it!!

I forgot my folks were on their way to the New Forest, I thought that when my Mum’s mobile went straight to ansafone that she was out of signal in Tunbridge Wells… not on the way to there.

But…. and this is the moment they rocked, they found a Natwest that was open (in the arse end of no where) and paid in, not only enough for me to buy food, but my rent too

This is probably the 9,000,000 time they have bailed me out of the crap I get my self into, and I will never stop loving them for it

So this is for you Mum

and you Dad

Thank you both…… xxxxxxx

When did we stop being revolting

Filed under: General — Ned @ 6:54 am

In 2008 and 2009 the banks were almost bust; recession hit and people were being made redundant!

It’s 2010 and what has changed? Yes there are green shoots for businesses but why are we allowing the banks, the banks we funded via our taxes, to pay out million pound bonuses?

And I know the reason, money’s coming in; the companies we work for are hiring and clients are signing off contracts! However we seem to have forgotten the bastards that got us into this mess; and now they are being paid big bonuses to compensate then for a job well done!

So stop and think, stand up and shout! The wankers are still in control and we’re giving them our blessing

Rubber Ducks Included

I love baths, I love baths with bubble bath, I love baths with bubble bath music and candles.

And before anyone says anything, give it a try…. it rocks.

There is nothing better than laying in the bath with Spotify playing random music you’ve set up as a playlist, the lights off, candles going and relaxing Radox bubble bath

I live in a great house that has been designed by a graphic designer, the bath is deep and big enough for 2 (not that I know, ask my housemates though), so you can fill it all the way up enough to be able to sink down so only your nose and eyes show, still with the rest of you covered

Ah bliss.

It’s the Return of the Hack(bash)

Filed under: General — Ned @ 3:53 am

Well, well, well what have we here dear hacks, is it your nemesis? Is it that duo Darsterdly and Mutley? The caped crusader and his (not camp in any way) sidekick Robin? Beavis and Butthead?….

Nope it’s @cpev and @handolio; HACKBASH IS BACK, Mwah ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaa

I have given these guys a shoutout before, however, and as with Ned’s World, they went quiet for a while but they’ve been vocal again recently and no surprise @handolio’s teddies are flying out of his pram in a Friday rant

“Cooler…. 20 days!” or as I know it, buying a chicken from ASDA

Filed under: General — Ned @ 4:43 am

OK, I’ll come clean, I fucking hate ASDA, who it invites, what it stands for and the fact you can buy 2 whole chickens for 10 quid (need to get this no pound sign sorted soon)

We had roast at home with all the house-mates on Sunday gone and they bought the chicken from ASDA, sorry to be a meat fascist but if you are buying meat there is a great butchers 5 minute walk from the house that sources their chickens in Sussex.

The chickens bought were not free-range, farm assured or cornfed (fuck me it’s ASDA, what did I expect), but trying to explain to my house-mates why it is wrong to buy that sort of meat (moral, ethical, environmental and taste reasons) was hard.

These chickens came with the baseball glove still on their hands and the barbwire scrathes from trying to jump the fence on a motorbike

I am still trying to get over the false economy facts of shopping at a place like that, when all I hear is “it didn’t taste that good” “Well stop fucking buying that shit then, and shop at somewhere decent!!”

29th January

Just booked a visit with the Uni of Sussex to see what it’s at (or roughly translated. I’m fed up with feeling like a fucking idiot!)

Filed under: General — Ned @ 6:17 am

OK, so anyone who knows me knows I’m not a fucking idiot and have been trying to find out what this life has all been about.

I’ve been to Oz, but I now know I went too early and the jobs were wrong.

So I have booked to go and visit the Uni of Sussex for a visit to see if the time is right for me to go to Uni; the Uni of Sussex is a great, if I’m honest it’s an amazing Uni and I am off there for a visit to see if it is time for me to be a mature student.

Not sure yet is it’s right for me, see if I can do 3 years education again but I am wanting to know what their English Lit course covers………..

I love reading, and no not just the Mr Men books, but TS Elliot, Siegfried Sassoon and others

So, is this it, is this me finally making my parents proud and getting a degree or, and if I am fucking honest, getting the degree because I fucking can

Charlie Brown’s Christmas Tree

Filed under: General — Ned @ 6:12 am

Happy Christmas everyone….

9th December

I have finally seen Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House

Filed under: General — Ned @ 4:10 pm

We are currently staying in Bondi, Wheeze needed some beach action, me having the attention span of a 4 year old can’t sit on the beach for that long…

So I went into Sydney to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. I have not lost my Englishness, so I found the nearest bar serving beer, kicked back and just watched…..

And the Opera House

After finishing in Syndey I decided to go and meet up with Wheeze on Bondi Beach, it was a fucking impossible task as you will see below

Anyway running out of credit on the internet, it’s bloody hot in this room and we need to go have food (Wheeze needs to shower too as she smells)

Q Station - Manly, Sydney, NSW

Filed under: General — Ned @ 2:19 pm

Wheeze and I stayed at the Q Station hotel in Manly on Thursday night (the night we arrived)

I had booked the hotel but neither Wheeze or I had looked into it too much, just that Wheeze said it looked like a good hotel

I must say it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, views across the Harbour, quiet, serene and a beautiful rooms.

The Q Station is the old quarantine station from the days of the plague in Sydney

Would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Sydney.
