It has been a great day, weather wise, in Brighton today. 19 degrees and sunny….
I went for a walk along the beach at sunset, it’s not as goods as Perth, but it still has its perks

I have just got back from spending this evening sitting on the grass banking above Cottesloe Beach, with April and Andrew, eating fish and chips as the sun goes down.
It has been hot since Christmas, every day over 35 degrees, pushing at times 39 degrees. Hot in the evenings and hot at night
So sitting there in shorts and t-shirt wasn’t a problem, especially to see this happen….
To this
Happy summer evenings.
It’s Grand Prix weekend and as the Aussies are not big fans (and the obvious time difference) qualifying is shown in the early hours of the morning. Some weekends I set my alarm for 3am and get up to watch, or like tonight it is at 12.30am so I will stay up and watch…. the race is a little more civilised at 9.30pm.
So I thought I would catch up on reading through my friends blogs. As many of you you know from the old nedsworld that I have a soft spot for Hackbash and have (finally) caught back up with the last 2 weeks posts.
One post by Simon reminded me of the sunsets over Brighton, after he posted a photo on the blog
It is exactly what it sounds like, a rock that is wave-shaped. Had a great 2 days away from Perth with April and Andrew, great to get out of the city. I spent Saturday in shorts as it was 23 degrees and sunny
Wave Rock was amazing and had an amusing meal in Hyden at the Wave Rock Hotel/Motel on Saturday night. One of those places where as you walk in the regulars look at you (You’re not from around here are you Boy?)

Well that’s Wave Rock above, the view from the top was amazing
We stayed in a cottage at the Wave Rock Lake Resort, which was on the banks of a Gypsum lake, the sun set over the lake behind our cottage, so guess what….
The weirdest thing was this rusted vehicle in front of the cottage
It was a great weekend away, even with the 8 hour round trip (luckily Andrew did all the driving), plus we got to see Red Kangaroos (sorry no photos)
